Hard work pays dividends for Equestrian team !

Sports report

The Equestrian Team had a hugely successful qualifying season , culminating in an all-round great performance at the National Schools ’ Equestrian Association National Schools Championships 2022 , held at Keysoe International Equestrian Centre in October .
In total , Pocklington School qualified eight teams for the championships , which requires a team to have been placed 1st or 2nd at a qualifier , or as an individual , ranked in the top four , so the Pocklington team had done exceptionally well to earn their chance to compete at this national event .
Over five days , 12 riders and 14 ponies recorded some outstanding performances , with many new partnerships and debut championship team riders . At times , the weather was against them , but the team achieved some exceptional results in showjumping and dressage .
Upper Sixth student and Equestrian Team captain , Emma Forsyth , commented : “ This is our Equestrian Team ’ s best ever showjumping result and to achieve it at the National Championships is outstanding and something that all riders should be very proud of .
She continued : “ It was a brilliant championship for all involved . Every rider showed great skill and determination resulting in some well-deserved results , reflecting the hard work of riders , horses and the never-ending support from parents !”
