We have managed to squeeze a wide range of academic enrichment opportunities into a short , intense term , to complement our ongoing range of lectures , clubs and societies .
First Year pupils worked hard on their excellent geographical superlatives ; Second Year pupils enjoyed an inspiring trip to see A Midsummer Night ’ s Dream at the RSC ; Lower and Middle School pupils participated in an external Latin and Greek Recitation Contest , with our First Year team achieving a bronze award . Boarding

Lear as part of the Shakespeare Schools ’ Festival ; World Book Day was celebrated across the School , including collective story-telling of The Monkey ’ s Paw throughout the day .
Fourth Year HPQ pupils presented their findings as part of their showcase evening whilst Sixth Form EPQ candidates have also put their finishing touches to their projects and Sixth Form linguists successfully participated in ( and won !) an external MFL debating competition for the second year running . In School , a range of Sixth Form speakers contributed to an inspiring
Lectern Society evening which focused on the concept of whether our identity is defined by the perceptions of those around us .
We also congratulate Vova Volkov , who has been shortlisted to the final five in the William Akroyd Scholarship competition , and all the winners in the Biology Department ’ s photography competition which was run in celebration of National Science Week .

Head pupils painting

As part of our Saturday Morning Enrichment Programme this term , our boarders participated in two 3-week programmes of their choice . The options this year have been DJ classes , masterchef , chess masterclasses , martial arts , and rock band . Well done to all our boarders on the fantastic enthusiasm they have shown in these sessions .
As a community , we have also celebrated the Chinese New Lunar Year of the Dragon and our German boarders helped organise an evening feast of schnitzels , currywurst , strudel , and the mysterious drink mezzo ! Look it up .

Every year , a student undertakes the task of painting the portrait of our outgoing Head Pupils . This year , Charlie Wake has demonstrated exceptional skill in this painting of Anna and Henry .
