Lesson plans should include Small Group Instruction groups, targeted skills, and rotation schedule.

Anticipatory Set - pique interest and build on prior knowledge

Objective & purpose - what they will learn, why is it important, and how will they know they’ve got it?

Input - provide knowledge, skills, processes for them to meet objective

Modeling - “Show” scholars what they’re learning in a concrete way

Checks for Understanding - Who has it? Who needs support?

Guided Practice - Scholars apply skill with teacher support

Independent Practice - Scholars apply skill on their own

Closure - Scholar self-reflection and wrap-up
