Family Rights
Information regarding children and families is treated with care and respect. SELC staff maintain confidentiality and protect the privacy of student and family information.
Information is shared only with authorized individuals who have a legitimate educational interest and responsibility for supporting children and families.
Family Rights
Families play an important role in their child ' s education and development. Families have the right to:
• Participate in their child ' s educational program
• Receive information regarding their child ' s progress and development
• Participate in conferences, meetings, and planning discussions
• Access their child ' s educational records
• Request clarification regarding services, supports, policies, and procedures
• Be active participants in evaluations and educational decision-making processes
• Participate in Planning and Placement Team( PPT) meetings, when applicable
• Share information, concerns, and goals related to their child
SELC values family voice and partnership and encourages families to actively participate in their child ' s educational experience.
Language Access and Communication Support
SELC is committed to ensuring that all families have meaningful access to information and opportunities to participate in school activities, meetings, and decision-making processes.
Interpretation and translation support will be provided whenever reasonably possible to assist families in accessing information and communicating with program staff.
Photography and Media
Permissions related to photographs, video recordings, publications, district communications, and media use are managed through annual Enfield Public Schools registration and authorization forms.
Families may update permissions in accordance with district procedures.
