Building Social-Emotional Skills
Emergency procedures are practiced regularly to help ensure students and staff are prepared to respond safely during emergencies.
Families are encouraged to maintain current emergency contact information throughout the school year.
Mandated Reporting
All SELC staff are mandated reporters under Connecticut law and are required to report suspected child abuse or neglect.
Staff receive ongoing training related to recognizing and responding to concerns regarding child safety and well-being.

Positive Guidance and Behavior Support
At SELC, we believe that strong relationships, supportive environments, and explicit teaching of social-emotional skills provide the foundation for children ' s success. Positive guidance helps children learn self-regulation, develop healthy relationships, solve problems, and build confidence.
Our approach focuses on teaching and supporting appropriate behaviors rather than simply correcting challenging behaviors.
