Allergies and Medical Conditions
Families are responsible for informing the school of any allergies, chronic health conditions, or medical needs that may affect their child ' s participation at school.
The SELC team works collaboratively with families, healthcare providers, and transportation staff, when applicable, to develop plans that support children ' s health and safety.
Medication Administration
Medication may only be administered in accordance with Connecticut law and Enfield Public Schools procedures.
Required physician authorization and parent / guardian consent forms must be completed before medication can be administered at school.
Families should contact the Health Office for medication forms and procedures.
Nutrition and Mealtimes
Healthy eating habits are supported through meals, snacks, classroom learning experiences, and daily routines.
Breakfast, lunch, and snacks are provided in accordance with USDA guidelines.
Children with documented dietary restrictions, food allergies, or medical needs will be accommodated according to individual health plans and required documentation.
Safety and Emergency Preparedness
The safety of children and staff is a priority at SELC.
Throughout the year, students and staff participate in emergency preparedness drills that may include:
• Fire evacuation drills
• Secure School drills
• Lockdown drills
• Shelter-in-Place drills
• Bus evacuation drills
