Individualized Supports

Teachers regularly use observations, assessment information, and family input to understand children ' s strengths and identify areas where additional support may be beneficial.
When concerns arise, staff work collaboratively with families to:
• Identify strengths and needs
• Discuss concerns and observations
• Implement strategies and supports
• Monitor progress over time
• Connect families with available resources
Our goal is to provide support as early as possible and to create positive learning experiences that promote success for all children.

Child Find

Enfield Public Schools participates in Child Find, a statewide effort to identify children who may have developmental delays or disabilities and may benefit from additional evaluation or support.
Families who have concerns about their child ' s development are encouraged to speak with their child ' s teacher, Family Advocate, or SELC staff.

Special Education Services

Some children may be eligible for special education services through the Planning and Placement Team( PPT) process.
When appropriate, services may include:
• Specialized instruction
• Speech and language services
• Occupational therapy
• Physical therapy
• Other related services designed to support a child ' s educational needs
Services are provided in the least restrictive environment and are individualized based on each child ' s needs.
SELC works collaboratively with families, Birth to Three providers, and community partners to support smooth transitions and ensure children receive appropriate services and supports.
