" I’ ve faced many changes and trials up until now. Through it all, every day, there were four people who made all the difference in my life. They helped me find the courage to go on even on the darkest days, and taught me what it means to love unselfishly.
The Newmans and my grandparents didn’ t have to do what they did for me. My mom had died, and I was all alone. They could have chosen to walk away and let someone else take responsibility for me. That would have been the easier choice.
Fortunately for me, Mr. and Mrs. Newman chose to take me in when I was desperately afraid after my mom died. They did the hard thing. Mr. Newman went to see my grandparents to tell them about my mom instead of letting the doctors at the hospital call them with the shocking news.
They took me into their home and loved me. They
