Renown Regional Expands Labor and Antepartum Capacity
Additional private labor and delivery and antepartum rooms are now open at Renown Regional Medical Center, expanding capacity for patients and families who need maternity care.
The expansion adds four labor and delivery rooms and three antepartum rooms to the active patient census. The additional labor and delivery rooms provide more private space for patients throughout labor, delivery and recovery, while the antepartum rooms support pregnant patients who may need extended monitoring or hospital-based care before birth.
For antepartum patients, who may remain hospitalized for days or weeks, the quieter private rooms offer more space to rest and accommodate support people while care teams closely monitor the health of both patient and baby.
The added capacity strengthens Renown’ s continuum of maternity and newborn care, including access to specialized services and Renown’ s Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit when a higher level of newborn support is needed.

New Prehospital Blood Program Supports Trauma Patients
Care Flight, Vitalant and Renown have partnered to launch the region’ s first prehospital blood program, expanding access to critical blood products before patients arrive at the hospital.
The program equips Care Flight aircrafts with whole blood and other blood products, allowing flight crews to begin transfusions for patients with traumatic injuries while they are being transported to Renown Regional Medical Center. Providing blood earlier in the course of care can help support patients experiencing severe blood loss and strengthen the continuum of trauma care from the field to the hospital.
The partnership reflects a shared commitment to advancing emergency and trauma care across the region and bringing essential, time-sensitive treatment closer to patients when every minute matters.
