Phenomena Encountered: The Magazine Issue 5 | Page 6

Chad works mostly on the business end of the team but as a good manager he keeps touched up on all the aspects of the team. He keeps in mind the safety and well being of the team as well. They perform a lot of investigations in museum settings as well as residential. For the safety of his team before sends anyone out to a client’s residence he asks them a lot of "intrusive questions.” For example: Are there any drugs/alcohol/other illegal substances that are being taken? Depending on the client’s answers is whether or not Chad continues their case. He keeps in mind that if there is anything illegal in a house and the police come in while they are in the house; that is a liability for Arrowhead. Another question Chad asks is if there are any remains in the house. It is comical that some people that are not in the field do not make the connection that remains in a house can equal a lot a paranormal activity.

Making connections with the living and the spirit world is what drives Chad and his team press forward in the paranormal field. More often than not it’s not easy nor is it glamorous. It is not all about running around in the dark, yelling at the air. There is a lot preparation of the team and equipment before they even get a location. There is the research of a location that is done. Once they get to the sight there is about an hour’s worth of set up and that means that there is about an hour’s worth of tearing down after the investigation is complete. Then there is the going through the evidence and presenting to the client what they found. Some of these locations are in repair; not to mention all the dust and bacteria in the air. There is the inappreciable encounter with the spirits. Paranormal research can be and is hard on a person physically, mentally, and spiritually. To those like the Arrowhead Paranormal Team at the end of the night it is all completely worth it.
