UIL. UIL is time an excellent activity for all kids. Kids have a chance to go head to head with surrounding counties. Participating in UIL events makes it easier for colleges to look at you and accept you. Here are some reasons how UIL will benefit you.
One reason why UIL is a great activity is because some kids are really smart, but not athletic. UIL gives those kids a chance to be like an athlete and compete against other teams which are the other schools. Kids get to compete by being smart not athletic. The kids express their talent in a different way by doing UIL. When you are in UIL you think outside of the box and get to be creative.
Also, kids have an opportunity to compete against other schools. They represent their school and show them how smart they really are. Competing against other schools will make you more competitive. It makes you feel apart of something and and makes you feel smart. Also you win medals for first through third and get colorful ribbons for fourth through sixth. When you are in UIL you think with a new point of view and get to be more creative.
In addition, if you placed or even participated in UIL it will look really good on your transcript. Colleges look at it and they see all the activities you participated in. You can get a scholarship on how good you did in UIL and you will have more of a chance to get accepted into a good college of your choice. Moreover, some people might say that colleges look more at grades than how people did on UIL. Additionally, grades are important, But if you are in UIL it will be an extra boost to get a better scholarship and get in a better college.
In conclusion, I believe that UIL will benefit you in many ways. For example, you are becoming more competitive by being smart not athletic. Kids also get a chance to rival other schools. It will help look great on your college transcript. I believe that everyone should at least try UIL!
