Lack of P.E

Did you know that in 2004, more than 9 million children ages 6 to 19 were considered over wieght in the United States.
Three Times a Week
I think our P.E. requirements are unfair and lousy. “P.E.” physical education, what's physical about going to the gym and running four times around the court. Our time we get to actually exert any energy is limited.
First of all every kid from 3rd to 6th grade needs more than 30 to 45 minutes a day to exercise. That amount of time is unacceptable for our growing bodies. What we do at P.E… To start we do warm-ups, which includes high knees, butt kicks, frankensteins, and karaoke. We go to half court and back for each warm-up. Then we have around twenty to twenty-five minutes left, if we’re in the gym we do either relay races or hockey. If it's nice outside we go outside and do mighty milers or kickball. That's what we do at P.E. three times a week.
On the other hand, I think we should get to play a variety of games. Reason one, say we do mighty milers, most kids just walk the entire time and get zero exercise. Also, if we play kickball, everyone on average gets to kick about 3 times. When we are in the field most people don’t even care. They just let the ball go right past them, and when you have twenty-five people on a team it's gets pretty unorganized. In addition, when we do relay races we have to first complete warm-ups. Next, we only get to run around the gym about four times. If you call that enough exercise for one school day you're crazy.
Furthermore, students in 6th grade have school sports next year. The coaches are trying their best to get you prepared and ready. School sports are where you compete against other schools, and if you want to have a good team or even play on a team you need to be in good shape. If you aren't prepared for 7th grade, you will struggle. People always say how 7th grade is much different from 6th grade. You start lifting weights in school. They do all these after school workout programs, so we need to be prepared for 7th grade.
In conclusion, we should get more time to be vigorous and energetic. Second, we need to play a variety of games instead of the same old thing time and time again. Last, the coaches should be getting us ready for 7th grade.
