There help was in England. There was a place called Bletchely Park. The team in Bletchley Park- Alan Turing, John Jefferyes, Dilly Knox, and Peter Twinn- managed to decipher the administrative key that became known as "Red". This would allow them to be able to decipher the Enigma Code, despite the amount of variations. Alan Turing designed and built an adaptation of the Bombe- now known as the Turing Bombe. This machine was so successful that several of them were built and distributed throughout England. According to the BBC, it is reported that Turing shortened the war by 2-4 years because the British were able to gather so much intelligance from the messages- meaning that more than an estimated10 million soldiers lives would have been saved. Also, the well-known D-Day landings would have been delayed if it were not for Turing's Bombe that was used to establish if it was safe to go or not.
