My client had been actively looking for land and had realized that what they really wanted was too expensive and what they could afford was just not right. That got me thinking. It occurred to me that perhaps Estepona Town Hall might be interested in donating a plot of land for this kind of project. I arranged a meeting with the relevant person and within 20 minutes of starting the meeting they said ‘yes, in principle they would be happy to donate the land.’From the Town Hall’s point of view they did not have a big international school in their municipality so this was an attractive proposition. Secondly it could increase property sales within the area as one of the first priorities of people who have children is to find good schools that are not too far away from where they live. The whole idea of having a big international school like this has an attraction on various different levels and in this respect, everybody wins; the client is extremely happy that they can now build this state of the art school for up to 800 students and the Town Hall are delighted that they will have a prestigious new school in their municipality.” Is it now up and running? “The land has been formally ceded to the school which has now been fully designed and my clients are in the final process of arranging the financing. We are just about there and expect to start building later on this year.” 78 THE WORLDWIDE PROPERTY BIBLE - www.simplymedia-group.com
