CHRO
ROUNDTABLE
NEW DELHI 22ND JAN ’19
TOPIC: BOOM OF EVENTS – BOON OR BANE
N
ot every HR conference is going to be
valuable to every attendee, and not every
speaker’s content is going to align with
your specifi c goals. Do a little digging before
committing to a conference, and look up the
speakers you are considering listening to. Even
the most riveting HR topics may not be delivered
in a manner that suits your learning style. So
look them up on Youtube, Twitter, and elsewhere
to determine if they are a good fi t, and decide
accordingly.
So, which HR conferences are you interested
in attending this year?
It is hard to overstate the value of a good
conference. The benefi ts of networking alone are
worth the investment. Decide which conferences
are worth the cost.
People and Management had organized
a CHRO Roundtable to decipher what an
Human Resource professional thinks before
attending an event. With numerous HR, events
organized throughout the year, we see similar
sets of speakers, topics, sponsors, exhibitors
and audiences.
People attend events as they offer
Networking, Knowledge sharing, sharing
of best and next practices, alternatives,
experience sharing and a lot of fun.

It is a hyped and mostly a talk with too many
invitees, offering not many differences, No new
learning; it is more like downloading the content,
not being connected with reality – a marketing
pitch by sponsors.
However, people attend events as they offer
Networking, Knowledge sharing, sharing of
best and next practices, alternatives, experience
sharing and a lot of fun.
CHRO Roundtable outlined the expectation
of a CHRO from a corporate event relevant to the
HR fraternity. CHRO’s from various industries
participated in the roundtable and shared their
perspectives around the topic: Boom of events
– Boon or Bane.
