The Longest Hour

University, Sy Liebergot presents
the inside details of the Apollo
13 epic story for the Aviation
History Program with his multimedia presentation, Apollo 13: The
Longest Hour.
Sy Liebergot, an author and
international lecturer who lives
near Houston, Texas, is traveling to Arizona as a featured
speaker for the Embry-Riddle sponsored AirCon research
conference in Chandler. He will be meeting with EmbryRiddle students on the Prescott campus
and also sharing his Apollo 13 experiences
with the public Wednesday evening. His
autobiography, entitled Apollo EECOM:
Journey Of A Lifetime, which includes
information of his “terrifying origins”
and tremendous accomplishments, will be
available following his presentation.

information: Liebergot’s Apollo space
experience began with the very first launch of the
unmanned AS-201 in 1966, a 38-minute ballistic “lob”
down range. Even though his Apollo experience included
the exciting missions of Apollo 8 and Apollo 11, Apollo
13 became an unwelcome highlight of his flight controller
career. Sy was at the focal point of the crisis when the
spacecraft oxygen tank exploded. He
