Page 8 Girls in the cemetery Upon arriving in Macedonia, during our first week of training, the Peace Corps training staff attempted to help us learn our way around the training hub, Veles by having a "Scavenger Hunt." In the spirit of the game, these local girls began following us. They were very curious as to what we were up to, a group of English-speaking people, wandering around, gawking at everything. They sat outside as we toured a local church and when we returned, there they were, ready to carry on. PCV Jenna Rosania is assigned to the organization and assists in program development and planning. Several PCVs, including Marita Robinson (pictured left), have attended the camp with young adults from their communities and assisted in practical demonstrations of environmental principles. So I showed them a few photos on my computer. They also loved to watch me type. One day my computer was sitting open on the family dining table and my 83 year-old host grandfather, Trijko, sat down and began to mimic typing himself, so I began to show him how. His son Nicola looked on in amazement and good humor. Photo by PCV Nancy Wilson Planting Flowers on Eko Day Everyone helps beautify the school grounds on Ecology Day in the village of Kisava.
