>> First-generation college students will continue to receive support through the generosity of the Gary L. Blackwell Charitable Foundation. Their gift, along with matching funds, will provide up to ten scholarships during the 2026-27 academic year.
>> PHSC Professor and Foundation Board Member, M. Stacey Thomson, Ph. D., continued her support through a generous matching gift during the 2025 Employee Giving Campaign. Her generous support doubled the impact of new or increased gifts made by employees during the campaign, which raised over $ 32,000.
>> The Deputy Conor Schmelter Memorial Scholarship will continue to support students enrolled in the Law Enforcement Academy. Deputy Schmelter served with distinction as a deputy sheriff with the Pasco Sheriff’ s Office for five years before his passing in September 2021. Through this scholarship, Deputy Schmelter’ s legacy will continue

>> Thanks to the leadership of Foundation Board Member John Dougherty, CPA, the board recently approved the establishment of the Foundation Board Emergency Fund. This fund will allow support for special projects, urgent needs and unique initiatives across the College. We’ re grateful for the generous support of Foundation Board Members John Dougherty, the Honorable Barbara-Jo Bell, Bill Cronin, Ryan Doddridge and Ron May, who have generously contributed to this initiative.
>> Continuing to honor her legacy, the Marlene Ann Ewankowich LPN Annual Scholarship provides meaningful support to nursing students at Pasco- Hernando State College. Since its establishment in 2022, seven students have benefited from the generosity of Marlene’ s family and friends, whose ongoing support ensures her compassionate spirit lives on through the success of future health care professionals.
