Trustees ’ Service Recognized
Last fall , the District Board of Trustees ( DBOT ) recognized two resigning board members , David Garcia and Al Hernandez , for a combined total of nearly 12 years of service .
The resignation of Garcia , retired pastor of Grace World Outreach Church in Brooksville , Florida was effective in September 2023 . He

served on the board since his appointment in February 2018 .
Hernandez , Market Vice President at Humana and a member of the Pasco County School Board , was appointed to serve on the board in 2017 . His resignation became effective in November 2023 .

President and College Community Connect at Get Acquainted Receptions
During his first month as president , Jesse Pisors , Ed . D ., met with trustees , faculty , staff , students and community members . Hundreds of employees and students attended Get Acquainted Receptions held
at all six PHSC locations . The meetings provided an opportunity for the new president to introduce himself and to field questions on any topic from attendees . Following each reception , Dr . Pisors was introduced to college instructors in meetings hosted by the Faculty Senate and the College ’ s Faculty Development Institute . Throughout the spring and summer , the president is also conducting “ listening tours ” in which he meets with campus departments , program directors , student organizations and members of the community to gain a broader perspective of the college ’ s operations , needs and interests .
