Celebrations Honor Presidency of Timothy L . Beard , Ph . D .
Several PHSC events celebrated the accomplishments of PHSC ’ s fourth president , Timothy L . Beard , Ph . D ., who retired on January 31 , 2024 . In a ceremony on the morning of January 12 , the Spring Hill Campus Library was named the Timothy L . Beard , Ph . D . Library . Remarks were provided by Amy Anderson , M . D ., Spring Hill Campus provost ; Lee Maggard , DBOT chair ; the Honorable Barbara-Jo Bell , Foundation Board vice chair ; and Lisa Richardson , vice president , Advancement . Each speaker noted the retiring president ’ s dedication to the college and his passion for education .
“ Dr . Beard has been a remarkable president , an avid reader and a resident of Spring Hill since 2007 ,” said Maggard , “ There is no more fitting tribute than naming the Spring Hill Library in his honor .”
