Chick-fil-A Serves Appetizing Higher Ed Opportunities
Each week , thousands of customers visit the Spring Hill , FL Chick-fil-A restaurant , the franchise ’ s only location in Hernando County . In the popular restaurant ’ s dining room , large posters promote tantalizing new items on the restaurant ’ s menu — while others encourage an appetite for learning and career advancement .
John Mitten , the franchise ’ s owner and a PHSC trustee since 2018 , provided valuable wall space to promote the many higher education and workforce opportunities available at the college .
“ Chick-fil-A has a long history of supporting the community , especially in promoting the value of education ,” says Mitten . “ We recognize that employees and customers benefit from a robust and accessible education environment .”
In fact , the Chick-fil-A national chain offers a national scholarship program for the employees of local franchises . Additionally , the Spring Hill franchise reimburses 100 % of employees ’ college tuition and books , applicable toward certificate programs and associate and bachelor ’ s degrees . The only stipulation for the restaurant ’ s busy employees , many of whom juggle work , family obligations and school , is to earn passing grades . PHSC ’ s nearby Brooksville and Spring Hill campuses , as well as online courses , make the college ’ s affordable programs convenient to employees and local customers .
