PHSC Trustee Visits Future Community Heroes
COLLEGE UPDATE
In July, the PHSC East Campus in Dade City welcomed District Board of Trustees member Gino Collura, Ph. D. He spent the day engaging with students, faculty and staff, witnessing firsthand the dedication, skill and passion behind the College’ s public services programs.
Gino Collura, Ph. D., District Board of Trustees, suited up and participated in a practice rescue inside the East Campus Fire Tower.
The tour, facilitated by Eric Hall, Ed. D., PHSC President, and Dennis Feltwell, Ph. D., Vice President of Student Services, included visits to the Fire Academy, Law Enforcement Defensive Tactics and Forensics Investigations programs. In addition, the tour showcased a detailed walkthrough of the Forensics Lab and the Fire Tower. Trustee Collura had the opportunity to showcase his defensive tactics on the mat and suit up for a practice rescue inside the Fire Tower.

PHSC’ s Horizon of New Vision and Success Awaits
In today’ s modern world, the ever-evolving landscape of higher education is more dynamic and unpredictable than ever. As a result, PHSC has launched a new vision and focus on success with its academic programs, innovative ideas, structure and a broad experience for students to increase student retention.
Through the use of structured collaboration and modern technology and automation, the College’ s vision creates an opportunity for innovation using the new Banner Enterprise Resource Planning( ERP) and Slate Customer Relationship Management( CRM) systems. Utilizing these powerful automation and AI tool will result in streamlining processes and enhancing communication on new academic programs and fostering student retention. By leveraging ERP and CRM, the College has the ability to create centralized information for new academic programs, facilitate targeted marketing campaigns, develop personalized communications, receive feedback mechanisms and much more.
Tom Hull, Vice President, Instructional Technology and Distance Learning and Chief Information Officer, states that“ the PHSC vision is to leverage new leadership and immersive adoption of tools to provide personalized services, automation and the comprehensive capabilities of the ERP and CRM coming up. The College is creating a cohesive communication strategy that not only informs but also engages and retains students.” In addition, PHSC is the first higher education institution to implement the full scope of the new Ellucian Banner SaaS on the Postgres version. This includes a refresh of the College’ s Enterprise Resource Planning( ERP) environment, with new modules and Application Programming Interface( API) integrations for more than 35 software systems.
