Igniting Future Welders

COLLEGE UPDATE

PHSC’ s Workforce Development Department celebrated the grand opening of their newly renovated Welding Lab at East Campus in Dade City on February 14, 2025, with a unique ribbon-cutting ceremony featuring welding torches. PHSC leadership, along with faculty, staff and community members, honored the new renovation by highlighting the lab’ s significant role in addressing the growing demand for skilled welders.

Matheson Gas provided the center with brand-new welding booths, all-new Miller Welding machines with accompanying ventilation systems and a brand-new Miller Welding Simulator. Attendees had the opportunity to view a live demonstration of the new computer numerical control plasma table and the Miller Welding Simulator.

PHSC’ s Hub for Creativity and Performing Arts

The PHSC Instructional Performing Arts Center is a fully operational professional performing arts center designed to provide students with a state-of-the-art facility.

During the 2024-2025 season, the facility saw 41 community rental performances, 40 Pasco County School public performances and 23 large-scale PHSC events / performances.

Young Learners Explore PHSC College Life

On February 19, 2025, more than 40 eighth-grade students from Parrot Middle School toured the PHSC North Campus in Brooksville to explore college life at PHSC. During their visit, students learned about PHSC’ s Nursing and Paramedic programs and participated in a handson lab activity. Alongside the guidance of North Campus representatives, they also toured key campus facilities, including the Academic Success Center, library and advising offices.
