PHSC Introduces New $ 4.9 Million Fire Training Tower
PHSC held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the launch of the new fire training tower on November 18, 2024, at the East Campus. PHSC was joined by District Board of Trustees members and community members to honor the new facility and the College’ s Fire Academy students.
The state-of-the-art facility is a pre-engineered fire training tower developed and constructed by Skanska, an internationally renowned leading construction and development company. PHSC strives to stay on the cutting edge in terms of the preparation provided to students. This fire training tower provides students with a state-of-the-art training facility, better preparing the students who go through our fire science program. In addition to serving our students, this facility will allow us to provide ongoing training for professionals from across the state.

Conquering Inner Fears at 2024 Fear Summit
PHSC faculty, staff and students expressed their inner fears at the College’ s Fear Summit on October 30, 2024, at Spring Hill Campus. Attendees explored various facets of fear and its impact on our daily lives. The insightful event touched on fear-based leadership, the fear of success and social anxiety, the psychology behind our primal fears of certain creatures and how literature shapes our perceptions of the unknown.
Simultaneously, the event showcased a mini art exhibition featuring the works of students from adjunct instructor Julie Lovero-Fox’ s classes. The all-day art show highlighted the creative exploration of fear through the eyes of our talented art students.
