FACULTY PROFILE – VICKIEANN LAUBACH
There is a one-of-a-kind stained glass
piece proudly displayed in a fourth floor
lobby window of the Kathrine M. Johnson
Administration building at the Porter Campus at
Wiregrass Ranch. The artistic beauty and superb
craftsmanship leads one to conclude that a stained
glass artist was behind the creation. And, that is
correct, but that creator also teaches nursing at
PHSC and has more than 32 years of experience
in neonatal intensive care, labor and delivery, and
simulation education.
Assistant Professor of Nursing VickieAnn Laubach,
Ed.D., teaches Adult Nursing II and III and the
obstetrics part of the Maternal Child Nursing course
at Porter Campus since 2015. Prior to teaching
at PHSC, Laubach held positions at Tripler Army
Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii, for more than
seven years as a nurse, working her way to
clinical educator and assistant manager. Even
while progressing upward, she continued to
work bedside.
Laubach has lived all over the United States and
Japan, as her husband, Art, spent 21 years in the
military on active duty. After his retirement, they
landed in the Tampa Bay area and he pursued
something he always wanted to learn—stained
glass. “Two summers ago, Art was working on a
couple of projects and needed help. I asked him
to teach me, so I could help him,” said VickieAnn.
“It was like therapy—creating designs from glass.
