c. Once the third intervention is implemented or a positive response is noted, the PAT will reconvene to share and discuss the results. d. The PAT will determine if there is a need to develop three more interventions and then repeat the above process. e. The PAT will reconvene at the end of the second set of interventions to determine the student’ s response to intervention( RtI).
Step 3 The PAT may choose to file an official request for referral to the Manchester Board of Education to set up a Planning and Placement Team( PPT) meeting.
Step 4 After the PPTs are conducted and further data is shared, the PAT will discuss the student’ s academic placement at CCS.
Definitions of CCS Limitations Physical – when a student is unable to physically access our building limitations Emotional – when a student is a potential danger to self or others or needs an onsite counselor Cognitive – when a student cannot learn without reasonable * accommodations within the regular classroom to access the curriculum
* reasonable = within the means of the school’ s current resources of time, training, curricular program, staffing, and budget

Cornerstone Accommodation Plan( CAP)

When a student has medical needs that require basic accommodations to perform at his / her maximum ability, the school nurse may assist the administration, classroom teacher, and parents in exploring potential accommodations that the school may be capable of making without the support of a special education program or related resources. Cornerstone does not participate in the federal 504 Plan program.

Student Behavioral & Mental Health Services

Cornerstone has contracted with The Light House, located at 97 Main Street in Manchester( less than a half-mile from the school), to better meet the expanding needs of youth. The Light House is a mental health agency that brings together a combination of licensed clinicians and pastoral counselors to serve the community in various ways. They aim to support schools, organizations, families, and individuals in understanding and managing mental health needs. Their biblical perspective on meeting these needs aligns well with Cornerstone’ s mission.
The Light House staff will provide the faculty with professional development opportunities designed to equip teachers to meet the many needs of their students. They will serve as consultants to teachers and administrators with general classroom needs; they may give a wholeclass lesson or lead an assembly( anti-bullying, for instance).
They will also be available to the administration as a resource to offer to parents when students may need individualized support. Before The Light House staff would ever meet individually with students( or in small groups), parents will have already given written permission for their
