Graduating seniors must have attended Cornerstone full-time as a junior and senior to qualify for either of the top two ranks. Seniors who received high school credit as homeschool students may not qualify for Valedictorian or Salutatorian; they may only be considered at the discretion of the Head of School.
Pupil Services
The Town of Manchester Pupil Personnel Services Department provides services to students who attend public and private schools in Manchester. Our students are eligible in the following areas: speech therapy, vision and hearing screening, social work, and psychological testing and evaluation. In addition, the pupil services department provides us with a school nurse.
Pre-Referral Process
The official Pre-Referral Process( PRP) may be initiated at any time under any of the following conditions:
• The educator identifies an area of academic or behavioral concern for a student
• The parent recognizes an area of concern
• A particular incident reveals the need for a PRP
Step 1 a. The educator shall record over a period of 10 academic days the necessary non-intervention data / concerns prior to initiating the PRP using the Non-Intervention Data Form( s). b. If the educator determines that intervention is necessary, the official Pre-Referral request is to be submitted using the Pre-Referral Request Form( s). Intervention shall be determined as necessary when a student’ s academic performance is below expectations at least 75 % of the time.
Step 2 a. An initial Parent, Administrator, Teacher( PAT) team meeting will be conducted to discuss the target concerns. b. If the PAT determines the need, it will outline a series of three interventions to be used until a positive response is documented to an intervention. Evidence of positive response shall be determined by at least 10 % increase in performance during the two-week period of intervention.
