Parking Lot Safety Rules
a. The bus driver is the sole authority and is in complete command of the bus and must be obeyed. Bus drivers will report immediately through their supervisor to the building principal all behavior problems and disciplinary action will be taken. Children who misbehave will be issued a warning and the parent will be called. If a student is reported for misbehavior a second time, he / she will lose bus privileges for three( 3) days and will be transported to school by parents. If there is a third incident, the student will lose bus privileges for one( 1) week. b. Good conduct will be maintained at every bus stop. Students will stand off the road while waiting for the bus. Generally speaking, students should not arrive at their stops earlier than ten minutes prior to pick up time. Students should show respect for the property of all homes near the bus stop. c. Upon entering the bus, the students are to choose a seat and remain in it unless permission is obtained from the driver to move to a new location while the bus is stopped. The driver may assign seats. d. Students must remain seated while the bus is moving and must be quiet at railroad crossings and stop intersections. e. The position of the windows should not be changed without permission of the bus driver. In no case may the student shout, project parts of the body, or throw things out the window, whether the bus is stopped or moving. Shouting, spitting, or gesturing out of the bus windows is forbidden. f. In the interest of safety, all feet, books, lunch boxes, etc. will be kept out of the center aisle. g. Students may converse at a reasonable volume but must avoid loud talking and singing.
Vulgar language is also prohibited. h. Eating is dangerous on a moving bus and, like chewing gum, tends to litter the bus; thus, both are prohibited. i. Thrown objects are also dangerous; thus, nothing is to be thrown on the bus. j. Specific, written permission must be provided by the parent to allow the student to get off the bus at a location other than their regular stop. k. The bus should always be left in excellent condition in terms of cleanliness. Littering is unnecessary and unacceptable. Students should also refrain from damaging or causing destruction to the bus. Parents are held responsible and must pay for any damages. l. Students will not play with the Emergency Door on the bus. This door is to be used for emergencies only. m. Students should not bring anything on the bus that is not for school purposes. Any such items will be taken away from the student and turned in to the school office. Any athletic equipment should be kept in a gym bag or put on the floor of the bus until it reaches the school. n. Check to be sure you have all your property before getting off the bus. o. Failure to comply with these rules may result in suspension or expulsion from bus service. p. If parents have complaints regarding bus transportation and how the above policies are carried out, they should contact the bus company directly.

The school parking lots are very busy as students are dropped off in the morning and picked up after school. Although we do our best to monitor the coming and going of our students, we ask parents, guardians, and carpool providers to observe the following safety rules:
