Unplanned Early Dismissal Days
Traffic Pattern
Student Entry and Dismissal
before 9:20 AM on late openings. Students and faculty members are invited to wear their theme shirts and casual bottoms on days that have delayed openings.
Please note: The town of Manchester uses 2-hour delays( because their school day begins before ours does), but Cornerstone uses a 90-minute delay system. Students who must still ride the Manchester bus to school will be picked up according to Manchester’ s 2-hour delay schedule.
In the case of a delayed opening on a day that was originally scheduled to be an early dismissal, the early dismissal will be canceled, and school will dismiss at the regular 3:00 / 3:05 time.
Unplanned Early Dismissal Days
In the event of an early closing, the above notification systems will be used. On these days, CCS is notified by the Manchester Board of Education at approximately 11:00; early dismissal information will be announced after that time. Early dismissals typically take place at 1:00 P. M., except in very severe cases. The safety of our students and families is always of utmost importance.
TRANSPORTATION
Traffic Pattern
Read and follow the traffic pattern in Addendums J & K. Note that all traffic leaving campus for the first 15 minutes following dismissal MUST turn right onto Main Street. DRIVE SLOWLY AT ALL TIMES WHEN ON CAMPUS.
Student Entry and Dismissal
Elementary students must enter the building between 7:50 and 8:30 each morning through the double doors located at the lower level of the back of the building. Parents who wish to walk their students to the door must park in the lot adjacent to the portico; however, parents will not be permitted to enter the buildings during drop-off. Parents who wish to drop their students off directly at the door may drive around to the back, but parents must remain in their cars so that traffic is not delayed. Parents who drop off tardy students who arrive after 8:30 must park in the school’ s lot and escort their students through the entryway by the office( entering from under the portico). Please make every effort to avoid arriving late, as it places a strain on our office personnel and compromises campus safety.
At pick-up time, all elementary students are dismissed to the foyer and seated as they wait to be dismissed. Students riding the bus wait by the double doors designated for their pick-up. Parents picking up their students should line up outside by the foyer doors farthest away from the office and wait to be allowed to enter in line formation to receive their students as described below.
Each elementary family will be issued one unique number( printed on two dismissal tags that can be attached to your key ring, if desired). The adult who is picking up your elementary student( s) must present the dismissal tag or a photo of the dismissal tag to the teacher on dismissal duty.( Please take a photo of your dismissal tag so that you always have it on hand and can send a copy
