Homeroom for Grades 6-12
Students in Grades 6-12 have a daily homeroom time during which their class advisors take attendance, open the day in prayer and devotion to God, and read student announcements from the Secondary Level Principal from 8:30-8:40.( Students must arrive inside their homeroom before the bell rings at 8:30; they are marked as tardy if arriving in homeroom after the bell has rung.) Homerooms will take place in the elementary building( sanctuary) on Mondays and Wednesdays; therefore, students are to be dropped off at the elementary building on Mondays( until 8:40) and on Wednesdays( until 9:20).
School Calendar
The school’ s calendar of events is posted on our online Google calendar, which is synced with the school’ s app. This is the most current place to check for the school’ s calendar of events. You can set up your own free Google account to sync with the school’ s Google calendar. Faculty and parents should visit the school’ s external website to merge the school’ s calendar onto their personal Google calendars. An initial paper version of the school calendar will be published and distributed in the spring of each year.
Non-Routine Parent Pick-Up
Parents who need to pick up their student before regular dismissal must inform( by note, app, Sycamore, or email) the office of the early dismissal, including the time of pick-up. Notification must be given as soon as possible; notices given to the office later in the day are very difficult to smoothly accommodate. The parent / guardian or designated individual must always report directly to the school office when picking up a student for early dismissal. The student will then be sent to the office by the classroom teacher to meet the parent in the school office.
Snow Days( Emergency Closings)
Cornerstone uses the Manchester Public School transportation for its in-town students. Therefore, we generally follow their schedule for weather-related late school openings, early dismissals, and closings. CCS will use ParentSquare to notify parents in the case of an emergency, school closing, or delayed opening. It is very important that our records of your email address and phone number be kept current for you to receive these automated messages.
Delayed Openings
If a delayed opening is required due to inclement weather, the delay will be 90 minutes, which means a start time of 10:00 AM. Please note that no unsupervised child may arrive at school
