permitted to make copies of assigned pages until their books have arrived in order to complete assignments. However, making temporary copies will not be permitted without proof of purchase.
CCS instructs students in the use of the Microsoft Suite( Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher). As such, students must have access at home to Microsoft Word at a minimum. The school pays for a Microsoft 365 account for each student, which means students have access to the Microsoft Suite products at no additional cost to families. Parents are encouraged to contact the school office to find out more about accessing this free resource made available through the school’ s annual subscription. Students should also have a flash drive on hand to accommodate work done between both home and school( as may be needed), and they should have a printer at home for printing assignments that will not be submitted electronically.
FUNDRAISING
Board-Sponsored Fundraisers
To keep tuition at an affordable level, CCS conducts two to three major fundraisers each year. Recently, it has been our goal to focus on two major fundraisers— one in the fall that also has a service component, and one in the late winter or early spring that features some type of family event and / or an in-person or online auction. We are excited to share more about this year’ s specific fundraisers as the year progresses. Specific information will be shared throughout the school year because parent support of these fundraisers is necessary for our fundraising success.
If your family is not receiving financial aid and prefers not to participate in fundraising, you can elect to pay an opt-out fee( selected during the enrollment process) in place of participating in the fundraising. At the time of registration, parents must complete the Fundraiser Participation Commitment Form to indicate their intended levels of participation for the school year ahead.
PARENT PARTICIPATION
Parents, Teachers, Friends Association( PTFA)
The primary function of the PTFA is to encourage and promote opportunities for faculty / parent interaction, to foster unity, and to strengthen our school community. A council of parents, teachers, and friends is elected to discuss and act upon the needs of the school. All parents of Cornerstone students and all faculty members are automatically considered members of the PTFA. Various functions and projects are planned by the PTFA in consultation and cooperation with the school administration. The PTFA supports a variety of projects that benefit students, teachers, and overall programming.
Volunteer Help
Parents are very important to us in the education of our students. There are many opportunities for parents to become involved at Cornerstone. Watch for ways that you can become involved with the PTFA and in your child’ s classroom, as needed.
