providing related types of accommodations is voluntary and based on the school’ s self-assessed ability to meet each student’ s needs.
As a result of our commitment to provide a developmentally appropriate program for the children who attend CCS, the following guidelines are used for placing young children in our program:
• Pre-K children must turn 3 years old( for Preschool) or 4 years old( for K-Prep) by September 1 to begin CCS’ s program.
• Children who turn 5 years old on or before September 1 are eligible to enter Kindergarten.
• If a child is entering Grade 1 and has successfully completed Kindergarten at another school, CCS may waive the September 1 birthday requirement as long as the child demonstrates the necessary readiness skills for Grade 1 during the screening process.
Application

• Students must exhibit the ability to do regular school work and to respond to correction and moral teaching. CCS is not equipped to accommodate children with severe academic, emotional, or disciplinary problems.

• Although non-Christian families may be accepted for enrollment, participation in the school’ s full program is expected.
Academic Records
Academic records( report cards, cumulative student records, etc.) for students entering Grades 1- 12 are required when transferring to the school. The initial application process requires a copy of the student’ s most recent report card.
A transcript of previous school records is required upon enrollment when transferring high school credit from a previous school. Grade placement is made at the discretion of the Head of School.
Homeschool transcripts may require additional support when evaluating the school’ s ability to acknowledge credit toward a Cornerstone diploma. Homeschool grades issued by the parents will be acknowledged on the CCS transcript with Pass / Fail marks and will not be used to calculate the student’ s GPA or numeric average. Homeschool grades issued by an institution may be used towards a student’ s GPA and / or numeric average, but will be at the discretion of the Head of School when evaluating the homeschool transcript.
High school credit earned during Grade 8 shall be recorded on one’ s transcript as a Pass / Fail and will have no weight on one’ s GPA.
