After-School Care
After-school care runs until 5:30 pm and includes organized activities and play time outside as well as a quiet , relaxing focus after a full day of school . Please note that we will always care for your daughter after school in the case of a family emergency affecting pick-up .
Timeliness for pick-up routines is an expectation of families using after-school care , and in cases where the family is unable to meet this commitment , we will work together toward a solution . Pre-registration is required on a termby-term basis . The School will also work with families who need to register for one-time dropins due to extenuating circumstances . Requests for registration for drop-ins should be addressed via e-mail to the ECE Office / Assistant Director .
GRADE 1 TO 7
Before-School Care
Before school supervision supports working families who need an early drop off for their daughter . Early morning supervision begins at 7:30 am in the Junior School Sherman Jen Learning Commons .
After-School Care
After-school care provides a safe , supervised space for girls whose parents / guardians are unable to pick up at the end of the school day due to work schedules and addresses a specific need for working families . After-school care operates from the end of the school day to 5:30 pm .
Grade 1 to 2 students are met at their classroom and walked to the ECE Centre Atrium where they enjoy a balanced program with snacks , outdoor activities , play , crafts and stories . Students should bring their own drinks and snacks .
Grade 3 to 7 students walk to the Junior School Sherman Jen Learning Commons . Students will complete homework and engage in organized work , study and games . Students should bring their own drinks and snacks .

Pick-Up : Extended Care , Co-curricular Activities , Program Plus & Athletics
When student activities extend beyond the regular school day , the revised dismissal time and location will be communicated to parents / guardians in advance . Out of respect for the adults who are supervising these activities and who also have family obligations , parents must be prompt in picking up their daughter or make alternative arrangements in order for the student to be picked up on time . Families who demonstrate a pattern of late pick-up will be contacted by the School ’ s director and may be asked to withdraw their daughter from the activity in order for her to be picked up at the end of the regular school day .
For middle school students , parents / guardians must communicate to the activity supervisor in writing if other dismissal arrangements are permitted ( i . e ., students biking , walking or bussing home ).
Birthdays
All girls love to acknowledge their birthday . To celebrate birthdays , we sing special songs and acknowledge this special day with classroom activities . Due to many food allergies and an awareness of the environment , we ask that you do not send treats , loot bags or gifts to school .
For any party outside of school , invitations should be distributed in a sensitive and inclusive way
