To find the name and email address for any teacher associated with a particular student , go to the “ Courses ” tab on the student ’ s MySchool profile . All voicemails are forwarded to the recipient by email as well as leaving a message on their telephone .
The Teacher
When an academic or social problem or concern arises with your daughter , please call or email the teacher involved directly to discuss the situation . Leave a message and the teacher will return your call or reply to your email within 24 hours . It is important to realize that there is rarely a “ quick fix ” in educational or social development ; situations are seldom resolved with one phone call or visit . Depending on the circumstances , several conversations with the teacher may be necessary . It is essential , however , that the teacher be contacted ; contacting someone other than the teacher first only delays the problemsolving process . Be assured that most difficulties can be resolved when parents / guardians and teachers communicate and work together for the benefit of the student .
Homeroom Teacher ( JK – 7 ) or Advisor ( 8 – 12 )
Students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 7 have a homeroom teacher and students from Grade 8 to Grade 12 have an advisor . These roles are responsible for monitoring the student ’ s overall progress and wellbeing . When circumstances warrant a perspective beyond the classroom or subject teacher , the student ’ s homeroom teacher or advisor should be contacted .
Coordinators ( Junior School )
Coordinators in the Junior School provide oversight related to key areas including program planning ( e . g ., field trips , special events , speakers , etc .), Social and Emotional Learning and student well-being , as well as learning resources . Like all teachers , they are highly engaged in school life ; their broad perspective , however , often assists in providing context to complex situations .
Head of Grade ( 8 – 12 )
In the Senior School , each grade has a teacher responsible for overseeing the pastoral care of those students . This includes creating programs and structures to mentor and monitor all students in a particular grade to identify small issues before they become larger ones . They also
