Grade 1s keep their stationery at school, while grade 2s and 3s may take their pencil bags home
to use their stationery for homework.
Some children use up pencils and pencil crayons faster than others and may have to have these
replaced later in the year.
UNIFORMS
At Pinelands North Primary school we have a modern,
unisex school uniform. Pupils are allowed to wear
different combinations of the components of the
uniform.
To ensure that all children look their best, we have a
number of important rules and expectations listed in our
uniform policy. Some of these include:
•
•
•
•
•
•
Please don’t allow your child to wear coloured T-shirts under their school shirt.
Long sleeved shirts are not to be worn under short sleeved shirts.
In summer, children have to wear a school cap or hat during break and while participating in
sport.
Hair must be cut short or be neat and tied back with maroon or navy blue bands or alice bands.
Only small gold or silver stud earrings may be worn.
Please ensure that your children wear full school uniform to all evening functions, unless told
not to do so.
Each child is given a name badge when they start at our school.Their badges are the colour of the house
to which they are allocated. We expect them to wear them at all times. If they are lost, they can be
replaced by ordering one from the office.
School uniform items can be purchased from our uniform shop, which is situated in a side room off the
school hall. The uniform shop is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 07:30 to 08:00. The shop also
has a selection of second hand uniform items for sale. If you have clean uniform items in good condition
that no longer fit your child, please hand them in at the school for re-sale.
Cathy Fitzsimons runs the school uniform shop. Should you need to contact her, please do so
021 531 1299 or [email protected]
Lost property is a major problem and we have difficulty storing it. Finding the owners when articles are
not marked is time consuming and at times nigh impossible. We do have a lost property room and one
morning a week before school a school mom opens it and pupils can claim their belongings. To prevent
the loss of school uniform items, we ask parents and pupils to please make sure that all uniform items
are clearly marked. Unmarked articles will be stored separately and sold for school funds.
We keep “precious” lost property (such as purses and watches) in the safe. Please send your child to
the office to enquire about lost property like this.
