• If you have authorised someone else to collect your child, that person will have to produce proof
of identity.
• If the staff have any doubt about the identity of the person collecting your child, we will reserve
the right to contact you prior to releasing the child.
• We have planned our timetable around the fact that some senior pupils need to attend mosque
on Fridays. Parents of children needing to leave early on a Friday need to send a letter of request
to the school management at the start of the year. The children may be released at 12:45 and
have to be collected from reception.
All pupils leaving early during a school day, have to be signed out from the office. When collecting your
child early, please allow sufficient time to sign the register in the reception office. Children are not
allowed to leave the school and go out to the car until they have been signed out.
SICK PUPIL PROCEDURE
In the event of a child being unwell during school hours, the class teacher will take the pupil to the office
and a decision will be made as to whether the parent should be contacted immediately or whether a
rest in the sick room will suffice.
Children are not permitted to telephone their parents, to ask to be fetched from school. The reason for
this is that we often find that children, for one reason or another, are not feeling well but recover quite
quickly after a rest. We would ask for your co-operation in this respect, with our assurance that your
child’s welfare is of prime concern.
If your child is absent for more than 3 days, we will need a doctor’s certificate. PLEASE don’t send sick
children to school, they end up going home anyway and are likely to infect other children.
STATIONERY
Grade 1 stationery will be bought in bulk and provided to pupils as needed.
In Grades 2 – 7, a stationery list is sent out in the third term of every year, stating the
requirements for the following year.
The requirements must be ordered from the supplier and can be collected from school at the
end of the fourth term.
We prefer you to use the specific brands we ask for e.g. cheaper glue often means that
worksheets fall out of books.
Stationery must be at school on the first day of the year as we start working straight away.
Please mark your child’s stationery individually – pencils, rollups and pencil crayons included!
Some items you buy will be ‘pooled’ to be used in class. This works out to be more economical. If
there are items left over, we will send them home at the end of the year.
All spare pencils and pencil crayons are stored in boxes in the classroom.
Please always have a roll of plastic at home to cover your child’s books. We make covers in class
and then send the books home to be covered in plastic. There will be a lot of books to cover early
in the year and later in the year we send them home as we start new ones.
Book bags and soft pencil cases are needed from Grade 1 – 3.
Chair bags are needed in Grade 1 and 2.
