Open Swim & Swim Testing
Campers participating in camps that include pool visits will take a swim test conducted by certified lifeguards to assess swimming ability.
• Campers must jump into the pool and swim two lengths in the diving well
• Goggles are not allowed during the swim test
• Lifeguards determine whether a camper passes or does not pass
• Campers who do not pass must wear a Park District-provided, Coast Guardapproved life vest and may only swim in the zero-depth shallow area
• Campers may be retested once per week
All swim times are supervised by Glenview Park District camp staff, who are trained and strategically positioned in and around the pool. Staff wear designated swim shirts so they are easily recognizable to campers, pool staff, and other patrons.
