The Frankston Indians had a season for the record books in 2025 under Head Football Coach Paul Gould.
A No. 3 state ranking, the first 10-0 regular season in school history, first team with 11 wins and an outright district title left Gould with a season to remember.
“ It meant a lot and it was special for what we did at Frankston,” Gould said.“ For us to go 10-0 and win an outright district championship, the kids got to see what it was like to be recognized as a team in Texas. I don’ t think a Frankston team has had that opportunity. That was big and to just watch our kids enjoy that ride was really fun.”
Gould said having his son Bradlee experience the ride was one that left him with a very special feeling when it came to an end.
The season ended in the Class 2A, Division I area round at the hands of the De Leon Bearcats in a 74- 46 loss in Granbury.
“ DeLeon was a sneaky good football team,” Gould said.“ They had a quarterback that was on and they could throw the ball on us. It was close at half and then we came out in the second half and had some turnovers that did us in.”
Frankston had one of the top season for a school on the offensive side as they averaged 489 yards per game, finished with 5,873 yards of offense and averaged 46.3 points per game.
They had two 1,000-yard running backs in Braylon Donnell and Michael Bryant. Donnell finished with 1,212 yards and 17 touchdowns, while Bryant had 1,014 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Senior quarterback Carson Bizzell finished with 2,187 yards passing with 29 touchdowns to eight
interceptions.“ I knew during our second scrimmage against Elkhart that we could do some stuff and score some touchdowns,” Gould said.“ I thought we would have a chance to be all right. The offensive line played great and having two guys run for 1,000 yards says a lot. We have extremely talented receivers with one of them being A. J. Donnell, who had another great year.”
A. J. led the way at receiver with 53 receptions for 953 yards and 15 touchdowns.
With the graduation of Bizzell, fans can expect to see Dallas Dezern take over in his second year at Frankston.
“ I would say right now that Dallas could possibly be the frontrunner,” Gould said.“ Obviously if someone is able
