replace.” Defensively, the Panthers were led by Sebastian Lathan, Jr. with 150 tackles, three interceptions and three fumble recoveries.
“ I knew about Sebastian since the seventh grade,” Boone said.“ I knew this kid was a freak because he could cover some ground and I saw his motor and was like he will be our version of Buda Baker. I told him this is what I envisioned and he was like,‘ Yes sir, I got you.’ He executed everything I asked of him this year.” When it comes to the future of Westwood Panther football, Boone said the main focus is consistency.“ With the success that the guys already had, we wanted to continue to build the success of the program,” Boone said.“ We talk about taking it to the next level and being a consistent Top 10 team in the state. Every time they see Palestine Westwood, they know they are going to have a fight on their hands.”
Boone hopes when the new realignment comes in February, the Panthers will have a solid group to compete against.
“ We are trying to figure out where we will be in realignment,” Boone said.“ We are seeing some predictions and trying to things out. We want to bring the high powered offense and a tough brand of football. We want to throw the ball and bring it between the hashes and run the football.”
