played on June 27 , 1981 Ritchie White was a forester in New Hampshire his whole professional life . He was one of the favorites to win the competition as the second highest seed in the Calcutta , the night before the first game .
Ritchie collected all of the necessary flags in the game and was the first one to do so doing it without firing a single shot or being eliminated . He won the game and the trophy .
