Lizard Lounge Club

Let your vocals make an impression at the clubs open mic nights, hosted every Monday night. The open mic host a variety of artists playing acoustic songs. BONUS: Every night, an audience-rousing member walks away with a cash prize, and they perform at the LLC grand finalist’s show. Winners must have stage presence, excellent vocal and playing abilities, and originality—easy for any musical thespian. Doors open at 7:30 PM but come early, only 20 acts perform each night. Story Club Boston

Not a singer? Share your inspiring, thrilling, heart-breaking stories at this clubs different take on open mics. Instead of taking on another character, you’ll connect with feelings and experiences. The club encourages first time story tellers to come, providing stands, stools and timers to cope with nerves. Meetings are held the first Thursday of each month at 6:30 PM. You can choose to email the club ahead of time to try and become a featured speaker, or arrive early and sign up for one of three spots. Story Club Boston is in Improv Boston,

Small Theater Alliance

Want to get into the development of new short plays? Or have a play idea you’ve always wanted to be acted out? Here, actors and playwrights collaborate letting works come to life. Performers gain experience through cold readings, and establish connections with local writers. Writers can sign up in advance to guarantee reading time, and actors show up at 7 PM to read. The next open-mic isn’t until November 21st, but paying a $40 yearly membership lets you join in on free workshops throughout the year.
