GIL BREIT ADSO-EM is a law enforcement professional and retired Detective Sergeant with over 26 years experience in investigations and intelligence , serving the second half of his career embedded on the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force ( JTTF ), Newark Division . With an extensive background in operational coordination and program management , he specializes in regional homeland security strategies , crisis planning and preparedness , risk assessment , threat mitigation , counterterrorism , and emergency response . As an avid aviator and pilot , Gil is the VFC for AuxAir Station Caldwell ( Flotilla 014-10-20 ). Also an EMT for over 35 years , Gil Breit serves as the Deputy ADSO-EM to DSO-EM Alex Rico in D1SR .
KAREN R . CALDWELL ADSO-EM concentrates on meteorology and was appointed to the D1SR-EM team for special monitoring and reporting on weather-related activities potentially impacting our District . Her interest and in-depth knowledge in meteorology has been put to valuable use in the analysis and publication of D1SR-EM Situation Reports ( SITREPs ) and Spot Reports to Auxiliary and District leadership during the recent 2021 hurricane season . Karen is also the FC of Flotilla 014-06-07 ( Ossining , NY ), ADSO-PE for SECNY-West , and the ADSO-SR for D1SR . She has instructed organic chemistry at Pace University , Westchester Campus , for over 20 years . She and her husband , Bruce T . Caldwell , DSO- SR for D1SR , live in northern Westchester County , NY . Karen serves as the ADSO-EM for Weather ( WX ) in D1SR .
MARY A . COX ADSO-EM is an emergency and contingency planner with both Active duty and Reserve ( retired ) career experience in the United States Coast Guard ( USCG ), having served as a Search and Rescue Controller , in addition to prior sea duty aboard CGC Morgenthau . She is also an Attorney-at-Law with previous expertise in Maritime and Environmental Law and litigation on the West Coast . Mary has coauthored numerous contingency and military defense plans , including major exercises , and was a Planning Officer for Pacific Area response to major disasters . She serves as the ADSO- EM for Training and Exercise .
MICHAEL R . GRANOTH ADSO-EM is an experienced public safety professional with 30 plus years of experience in Fire and EMS response . Michael was also the Commander of Region 5 Dive Team , which is the largest regional asset in the State of Connecticut . Michael is currently pursuing his Bachelors in Emergency Management from Adelphi University . He has also gained his certification as a Military Emergency Management Specialist – Basic from the State Guard Association of the United States . Michael serves as the Documentation Unit Leader on the D1SR Emergency Management team . He is assigned as the ADSO-EM for SECLIS-North .
DANTON KERZ ADSO-EM is an emergency management and public safety professional who currently serves as one of the Planning Section Chiefs and Water Operations Branch Director for Suffolk County ( NY ) Urban Search and Rescue ( USAR ) Task Force One . In addition to being the Emergency Manager , EMS Coordinator , and Safety Officer for a hospital in New York for six years , Danton has been actively involved with multiple local Fire and EMS organizations , including holding the roles of Captain of Special Operations , Assistant Chief , and Chief of Department . Danton has helped to plan and execute over two dozen Full Scale Exercises to test and evaluate agencies , and has spoken at Regional , State , and National conferences on some of these exercises . Danton serves as the ADSO-EM for SECLIS-South .
JOHN MORGAN ADSO-EM is an experienced public safety , security , and emergency management professional formulating pro-active and focused solutions via risk-informed countermeasures centered around mitigation . His industry experience and specialties include Distribution / Fulfillment / Supply Chain logistics ; Hospitals and Healthcare facilities ; Colleges and Universities ; High-Rise Environments ; Bridges and Tunnels ; National Monuments protection ; as well as a state-of-the-art Data Center . He is a Certified Protection Professional ( CPP ) designated by ASIS International and holds a Master ’ s degree in Emergency and Disaster Management from Metropolitan College , New York . John serves as the ADSO-EM for SECNY-South .
ZACH PERKINS ADSO-EM is a FEMA designated Professional Continuity of Operations Practitioner ( PCP ), recipient of the SGAUS Military Emergency Management Specialist ( MEMS ) Senior level qualification badge , and graduate of the Texas A & M University TEEX Infrastructure Disaster Management certificate program and FEMA EMI National Emergency Management Basic Academy ( NEMBA ). Zach also serves as a Lieutenant in the New York Guard under the New York State Division of Military and Naval Affairs ( DMNA ), and has deployed for multiple State Active Duty response missions . Most recently he served for 19 months with the NY National Guard as a Joint Task Force Operations and Plans officer during Operation COVID-19 . He is employed at the New York Power Authority as an Operational Risk Specialist in the Risk & Resilience Department . Zach serves as the ADSO-EM for SECNY-North .
