Mamaroneck Flotilla Blessing of the Fleet

47 th annual blessing of the fleet and parade of ships in celebration of our nation ’ s independence .

In maritime flair , residents and dignitaries alike lined the docks of Harbor Island in anticipation of the 47th annual Blessing of the Fleet and Pardse of Ships Independence Day celebration at Harbor Island Park on July 4 , 2021 .

The Independence Day celebration has grown to become a favorite for Mamaroneck boaters and friends . Vessels of all shapes and sizes including everything from large yachts to stand-up paddle boards are festively decorated by mariners who parade in front of a reviewing stand to receive a blessing from local clergy , are judged in hopes of winning prizes supplied by local merchants and then enjoy a bite to eat from the grill . In years past , spectators have seen Betsy Ross , Lady Liberty and many other surprises floating in Mamaroneck Harbor ’ s West Basin .
The event is hosted by the U . S . Coast Guard Auxiliary ' s local Flotilla 75 , a volunteer organization that supports the Coast Guard and promotes boating safety to the recreational boating community .
