SESSION SOCOO3 - THE STAFF OFFICER FROM TOP TO BOTTOM

This course explained what to expect in a staff position, and what is expected from you. When you agree to commit your time and efforts to a staff position, a certain responsibility is bestowed upon you. The success of those programs and the fellow Auxiliarists you are responsible to, lies with each of you. We provided some helpful tips on how to be the best you can be, and how you as Leaders, are one of the most valuable assets of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary.

ZOOM...away we go…

Using Zoom to teach a class was new for me and took some time to get used to. The biggest takeaway is that it can reach so many people that otherwise could never had attended. My hopes are that these classes will have a positive influence on our membership developing special interests for staff positions. In the past my classrooms were full of conversation, interaction, not teacher centered. I can usually read a room full of students pretty well. Zoom is a good form of online teaching, but I miss faces, bodies, and eyes. Thanks to my co-teacher Michael Klacik. I am hoping that the members who attended the trainings will become future leaders in the Coast Guard Auxiliary." Sherry
