Heart and vascular symposiums
Clinical teams including physicians on the
medical staff or in the community are offered
various continuing medical education (CME) and
continuing education unit (CEU) opportunities.
CME and CEU events related to heart and
vascular topics are abundant with often more
than 250 attendees at a single event.
Specific to clinical teams, the annual Heart and
Vascular Symposium coordinated by the clinical
leadership of Baylor Scott & White Heart and
Vascular Hospital is attended by interested
clinicians from around the state. This past year’s
event featured physicians on the medical staff as
well as specialized nurses and technicians who
shared their expertise and insight on current
trends in the diagnosis and treatment of heart
and vascular-related illnesses.
Monthly educational conferences
In addition to the regional continuing education
programs, there are monthly events on the
Baylor Dallas campus. These include:
• Cardiology Grand Rounds
• Cath Conference
• Echo Conference

Baylor Scott & White CV Best Care Conference
The Baylor Scott & White Health Cardiovascular
Governance Council hosted the annual
Cardiovascular Best Care Conference to
align physician leaders with cardiovascular
operational leaders to identify and develop
strategic quality goals for the upcoming year.
This conference provides important senior
leadership updates to keep clinical leaders up-
to-date on how the rapidly changing healthcare
environment affects them. The event serves as a
system networking opportunity that helps align
and share best practices across multiple sites.
Annual Williamsburg Conference on
Heart Disease
Founded by William C. Roberts, MD, MACC,
Executive Director – Baylor Scott & White Heart and
Vascular Institute, the Williamsburg Conference
on Heart Disease began while Dr. Roberts was at
the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Cardiology
specialists from across the country attend the
conference each year in Virginia.
Dr. Roberts’ interest in educating his colleagues
and students about heart disease continued in
fiscal year 2019. The program, held in December,
featured a distinguished faculty of nationally and
internationally recognized experts in cardiac
disease. The Williamsburg Conference on Heart
Disease will be held in December 2019 for the
46th year.
