State Park Marker

Brown County State Park received recognition of being added to the National Register of Historic Places December 7, 2020. Nearly 16,000 acres received this honor in consideration of the substantial number of buildings, beautiful vistas and forests, making the park the largest historic district in Indiana.

While installing the Indiana Historic Marker for Kin Hubbard in 2022, Peaceful Valley Heritage Preservation realized the park had nothing visible showing the park was nationally recognized.
With approval from Washington D. C., the state and DNR, the heritage group was able to design and write the text for the sign that will soon be installed.
An event is being planed for September or October. Please look for a date and time to be advertised. •
