Atacama San Pedro de Atacama is located in an oasis in the north end of the Salar de Atacama. Among its attractions there is an interesting archaeological museum and a colonial church. In the surroundings you can visit the prehispanic village of Tulor, the Pukara (or fortress) of Quitor and the Inca ruins in Catarpe.   We have to know that San Pedro is located at 2500 m.s.n.m., so altitude sickness can affect.
