Shri V. Sekhar holds a Bachelor’ s Degree in Civil Engineering from Osmania University and is a Distinction holder. He is also a member of Institution of Engineers. Shri Sekhar possesses a rich experience of over 34 years in the Power Sector. Associated with construction of 400 kV sub-stations at many places in the Country, he was also heading the System Design Group which was responsible for engineering activities at the Regional Level including preparation of cost estimates. With his experience in the area of Distribution Management Services( DMS) he played the role of Advisor cum Consultant for the accelerated power development and reforms program in the Eastern and North Eastern states of India. He also handled Urban and Rural Distribution Schemes in the states of Assam & Tripura from concept to commission.
He has also headed a team for restoration of power infrastructure affected by Tsunami in Andaman & Nicobar Islands during 2004-05 and widely traveled in all the Islands. He was responsible for construction of new sub-station and renovation of old sub-stations in the State of Puducherry.
Funny Moments at OUCE? Whenever we used have meetings during the College Days, the speeches by Union leaders, Political Leaders and other were always fun for us. We used to tease them whenever they used to falter. We used to have lot of fun chit chatting and teasing friends
Professor who created everlasting Impression? Prof Sastri, Prof Ansari and Prof Badruddin. Prof Ansari was very passionate about teaching Survey. Prof Badruddin taught us Structures. He made the concepts crystal clear to everyone. Prof Sastri taught us Soil Mechanics and Structures which are the basics of a Civil Engineering.

Can you explain us your career progression after you stepped out of OUCE? I started my career as Assistant Executive Engineer in 1982 as a Class-1 Officer in Government of India i. e., National Projects Construction Company, then in 1986 joined NTPC as a Senior Engineer. In 1991, I joined to Power Grid Corporation as a Deputy Manager and since I am working here, I had at least 8 Promotions in my career.
