Guidelines for parents  Be positive. Tell your child what you enjoyed about your school days. Get them enthusiastic.  Involve your child in buying things such as stationery items, school bags and uniforms.  Get into a routine. Show your child how to be independent by getting themselves out of bed in the morning and getting ready so you can leave at a set time each day without stress or anger.  Make bedtime a reasonable hour.  Label everything. Put something distinctive on your child's bag like a large key ring, tag or ribbon. This will help them find their bag.      Encourage your child to carry his/her own bag. Be firm in your goodbye and don‘t linger. Show you are pleased to see your child at the end of the day. Listen to what he/she has to say. NEVER unpack for your child at home. He/ She must get used to doing this on his/her own, and putting things in the correct place.  Help your child pack the bag the night before school. . Other activities done during a school day DEAR time : Drop Everything And Read time in which specially coded books to cater to your child‘s reading ability are provided so as to develop reading skills. Music & Dance : Where they learn western and classical dance as well as English & Hindi songs. Physical Education : Where they have lot of fun through physical exercises. Skating is an optional added feature. Computers – Where children learn :  How to use computer.  How to be computer literate in Microsoft Office packages. Transport The children leave school in the following manner :  Children go by school bus.  They go by vans or walking.  Parents/drivers collect the children personally .
