                    Helpful Hints for Parents Here are some helpful hints to make a great start to the year! School begins at 7:50 am and gets over at 1:40 pm for walking students and 1:55 p.m. for bus students. Please ensure that your ward reaches school on time. Please send healthy food for lunch. Avoid sending junk food. Also send some fruit for the fruit break in a separate box. Children can also carry fruit juices in tetra packs. Ensure that the child carries a clean napkin daily along with small fork & spoon. Please label all books, water bottles, lunch boxes, uniform etc with your child‘s name. No lunch box, water bottle or eatables will be accepted at the school reception. Encourage your child to talk about his/her day and take time to look at your child‘s work. Allow time for your child to adjust to school routines. Std. 1 is tough, especially in the beginning of the year. The students are often very tired and take time to adjust to the new timings. We have games twice a week. Please be sure your child is dressed accordingly as per the PT uniform. No child may wear jewellery. However girls are allowed small simple earrings. No child may use cosmetics or apply henna (mehandi ) on their hands, colour the hair or apply kohl (kaajal) etc. This can lead to suspension from school. No nail polish may be worn and nails must be trimmed regularly and kept clean. Girls with long hair should make two plaits tied with white rubber bands . Those with short hair must use a white elastic hairband. Child must wear Black/White Velcro shoes. Boys should have short hair and avoid fancy hairstyles like ‗mushroom cut‘ etc. (With the exception of Sikh boys) Sikh boys must wear white patkas. It is compulsory for all students to wear the I – card daily. A sum of Rs. 50/- will be charged from any students who requires a duplicate I-Card. Absence from school must be supported by an application on an A-4 size white sheet for leave signed by the parents/guardian. If the absence is due to illness and exceeds more than three days, a doctor‘s certificate should accompany the leave application. Half - day leaves are strictly prohibited. Children should not be sent to school to appear for an examination/or test if they are sick. Students who accompany their parents on Parent Teacher Meetings to school should be in full school uniform. Children should not bring crackers, colours, cameras, video cameras, calculators, cell phones, I-pods or any other objectionable items to the school. Disregarding these instructions is liable to lead to expulsion of a student from the school. Please do no send any gifts on your ward‘s birthday, only dry candies/sweets may be distributed. Only primary students (I to V) are allowed to wear casual clothes on their birthdays.
